For the past term, our topic has been about Sir Francis Drake. We have learnt a lot about him and his adventures! We have also been creating a presentation on him in Computing using Keynote in our Computing lesson with Ms Fellowes. Everyone was put into a groups and we all had a section of his life to do a video presentation using the green screen. The sub-headings we were given were; the Introduction, Birth and Early Life, Life as a Slave Trader, Being a Privateer, The Spanish Armada, Circumnavigating the world, The Golden Hind and last but not least - Later Life and DEATH!!! On Friday 31st March we are going to see our final movie. Here it is! We hope you enjoy it!
In Science, we have been learning about electric circuits. We have been able to fiddle around with electrical circuits and been having a lot of fun whilst doing it. We have been learning how to turn things such as; lightbulbs, buzzers and creating loud noise. We have been using kits and connecting them with wires with crocodile clips on the end.
On Tuesday 28th 2017 At 11:45 Mr Ward's class took part in the school PTA Easter 'Eggcersise' event. Some exercises we did were Bunny hops where you put your hands like bunny hands or make then into ears! We also did leg stretches where you stretched out your back leg and your right leg was bent, we did that on both our left legs and right. Squats, where you bend your knees and go down to the floor. High leg running where you put your hands on your bum and run on the spot kicking your hands. It was great fun and the whole school took part.
Today was Red Nose Day and everyone dressed up in red, and obviously you had to wear a red nose. We had to bring in 50p to dress up in red. At 10:00 there was a cake sale, we don't know how much we have raised yet but, i'm pretty sure we raised a lot of money. We also sang a song about putting a red nose on your nose. It was ALOT of FUN!!
At the end of the day, there was a penalty shoot out for 20p and... TO TOSS A WET SPONGE IN THE TEACHERS FACE!! There was Mr Bennett, Miss Shears and Mr Ward to do it!
By Emma C and Aimee P- DON'T FORGET TO PUT A NOSE ON IT!!
At Furzeham, this week is SCIENCE WEEK! In Science week, we are making marble runs for a competition and we have until Friday 10th March. The categories are... the best looking run and the slowest time from start to finish! The rules are... It has to be a metre or below and the groups have to be between 2 and 6. We are making the marble runs out of recycled materials such as cardboard, plastic, paper and lots of tape! Everyone's runs are very unique and everyone has extremely good ideas, remember teams, there is no "I" in team!
Last Friday, group 2 of Mr Ward's class went trampolining. We did the same exercises as group 1 which included; Pike (you have your legs out straight) Straddle (you have your legs out like a Pizza slice) Tuck (you bring your legs up to your chest and hold them there then release them once your close to the ground) Straight jump (just jump with your body straight) and lastly The Swizzle hip (you do a bum drop then once your in the air you turn 90 degree then you land in a bumdrop) But not just those jumps you do many, many more.
